Little Lake Worth Bridge Replacement Project

Project Description

This 0.8-mile bridge replacement project includes removing the existing low-level fixed bridge with a new two-lane fixed bridge in the same location. The new bridge will provide four additional feet of clearance (for a total of 12 feet) to meet current FDOT standards and minimize future damage to the bridge deck caused by salt water. The work will be performed by The Murphy Construction Company in conjunction with the Little Blue Heron Bridge Replacement Project, which began construction in December 2009. The combined cost for these two projects is estimated at $10.1 million. A revised construction start date for this project will be determined based on permitting. Construction will last approximately 12 months.

Maintenance of Traffic: At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times. However, recreational water sports and SCUBA diving will not be permitted in the work zone.
